Out! Raleigh Pride is one of the biggest festivals in North Carolina that celebrates the LGBTQ+ community, allies, and advocates. It draws tens of thousands of people to the Downtown area each year.
The free event featured live entertainment, local vendors and artists, great food, a KidsZone, and a beer garden.
"It's just amazing. People, everyone's smiling. With the shirt, I've gotten a lot of hugs already. Excited to be supportive," said Jonathan Bowie.
He was not the only one providing hugs during the event.
"The goal is to keep kids alive, where parents have abandoned them. Support drag queens and their mission of what they're doing, entertaining the LGBTQ community, and we're here for everybody who needs a hug," Bowie said.
Food trucks with different types of cuisine were also available during the event.
"A lot of people, lot of fun, lot of music. Everything's great," said Samir Yahia with Party in a Pita Truck.
