Raleigh man charged with kidnapping, robbery after Pin Oak Road incident

RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- A Raleigh man is facing multiple charges after police say he assaulted a woman and prevented her from leaving a home during a domestic disturbance Tuesday night.

According to the Raleigh Police Department, officers responded around 9:15 p.m. to a domestic disturbance call at a home in the 3800 block of Pin Oak Road.

When officers arrived, they made contact with the people inside the residence. Police said the suspect, identified as Donovon Privette, initially refused to come outside or speak with officers. After continued communication, Privette eventually exited the home, allowing officers to complete their investigation.

A preliminary investigation found that Privette allegedly assaulted a woman inside the residence and refused to let her leave, according to police.

As a result of the investigation, Privette was charged with:
  • Possession of a Firearm by a Felon
  • Common Law Robbery
  • First-Degree Kidnapping
  • Second-Degree Kidnapping
  • Assault on a Female
  • Communicating Threats
  • Interfering with Emergency Communications
  • Resisting, Delaying or Obstructing a Public Officer




The investigation remains ongoing.
