RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- A Wake County detention officer was arrested Wednesday after deputies said she was supplying contraband to inmates in the detention center.

The sheriff's office said investigators received information that a detention officer was allegedly supplying contraband to inmates inside the facility.

After an investigation, deputies said 31-year-old Hilary Seekins, who was hired by the sheriff's office in 2018, was arrested during her shift at the detention center inside the John H. Baker Jr. Public Safety Center.

Seekins has been charged with possession with the intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver cocaine, K2 (synthetic marijuana), and suboxone, possession of a controlled substance in jail, and three counts of conspiracy of possession with the intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver a controlled substance.

She was given a $50,000 unsecured bond.
