
WAKE FOREST, N.C. (WTVD) -- A childcare worker is facing charges of child abuse in incidents that allegedly happened at the facility.
According to the Wake Forest Police Department, the investigation was launched in August after they received a report of a child being injured at the Wake Forest KinderCare on Friendship Chapel Road. According to an arrest warrant, the injured child was 15 months old.
According to the arrest warrants, the child sustained bruising on both sides of the chest, ribs, and back -- injuries that were "inflicted by other than accidental means."
During that investigation, police said they received another report of another child. a 3-year-old, being injured by the same worker in April 2025. The child in this case had abrasions to the back, also "inflicted by other than accidental means."
On Tuesday, police charged 23-year-old Mallory Claire Kemple, of Wake Forest. She's facing charges of two counts of misdemeanor child abuse.
