CARY, N.C. (WTVD) -- The Wake County School Board is releasing its budget outlook for the 2026-27 school year, and according to the presentation, the district could be in for a lot of budget cuts.

The outlook was released during the school board's retreat on Wednesday.

It cites a survey indicating that money for K-12 schools nationwide could soon run thin.

It's a reality that WCPSS said could soon hit it, too.

The news comes as the district says it's navigating an uncertain federal funding environment and inflation.
