CARY, N.C. (WTVD) -- Brandon and Erica Goff have had heavy hearts since learning that a car crash on Friday afternoon claimed the life of their only daughter. Lena Goff, 15, was a sophomore student at Green Hope High School when she was killed in a wreck at the Louis Stephens Drive and Morrisville Parkway.
Teddy bears, flowers and signs make up the growing memorial that sits at the crash site.
"This is a parent's worst nightmare," said Erica Goff. "It's the hardest thing about being a parent is the order of events are screwed up. I'm supposed to go first. Not her."

Cary police said Lena was riding in a green Honda Civic with four others when the driver didn't yield the right of way while making a left turn onto Louis Stephens Drive before colliding with a blue Jeep Cherokee. The driver is younger than 18 and is being charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle and failure to yield the right of way.
"I'm going to get by today and hope tomorrow is better. I miss my little baby," said Brandon Goff.
She's not here with us anymore, but she's always around us. Always.- Erica Goff, Lena's mother
The teenager's parents are overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support they've received from the community. There's a Facebook group called 'Lena Goff Memorial' that was established for loved ones wanting to honor her memory.
Her parents said that, in addition to being on the wrestling team, she was learning how to drive, she loved music and had an incredible work ethic. She worked at DJ's Berry Patch.
"For her first job at 15 years old, she cherished it. She saved most of the time. She loved hair, makeup, TikTok, animals, her family," said Erica Goff.
Lena had big dreams of becoming a forensic psychologist one day.
Green Hope High School cancelled its grapple Saturday in an effort to provide wrestlers, coaches and others time to process this tragedy.
School Principal Alison Cleveland sent the following statement to families:
It is with great sadness that I write this message to let you know that one of our students, Lena Goff, has died in a car accident. Our condolences, thoughts and prayers go out to her family and friends. As some may know, Lena was a member of our Wrestling team. We have canceled the Grapple scheduled for today to provide our wrestlers, coaches and members of this community time to process this difficult loss.
Please realize that reactions to stress and loss are varied and can depend upon such factors as age, personality, previous losses, and relationship to the victim. If you feel that your child has been affected by this situation, you can help your child by doing the following:
Lena leaves behind her parents, older brother Quinn, younger brother Cash, and a host of family and friends who loved her.
"She's not here with us anymore, but she's always around us. Always," Erica Goff said.
