You'll now see deputies driving Dodge Durangos after the company stopped making the Charger.
The new vehicles are equipped with more safety features including additional lights and reflectors.
The cost is about the same as the old cars.
"There's no significant difference in cost for this design. We did attempt to keep it within the same budget range as the old design," said Chris Creech with WCSO.
The larger vehicle also means more space inside.
The sheriff's office says the design is based off ideas from several Wake County deputies.
