This year, there will be no motorized vehicles.

This change comes after the death of Hailey Brooks at the 2022 Raleigh Christmas Parade. Raleigh has enforced this rule for other parades held, including the 2023 Christmas parade.
The city allowed motorized vehicles in the St. Patrick's parade in 2023, but there were restrictions.
"Traditionally, the St. Patrick's Day parade was only marchers... that's how it started," Diane Enright, a parade organizer said. "But, it won't just be people walking (this year). It'll be dancers (and) marching bands."

The parade is a celebration of the holiday and being Irish for all ethnic groups and cultures. It will start at 10 a.m. on the west side of the State Capitol Building near Hillsborough and Lenoir Street.
Also, for the animal lovers, ABC11 was told there would be many dogs dressed up in green.
