March Madness | UNC, Duke, NC State women's basketball teams headed to NCAA tournament

North Carolina (WTVD) -- After one of the most exciting and unpredictable women's college basketball seasons in recent memory, it's time for the Big Dance.

It's been a fantastic ride, from Caitlin Clark's record-breaking season to another unbeaten regular-season run by South Carolina.

NC State came up short in the ACC Tournament losing to Notre Dame 55-51 in the championship game but the Wolfpack made the NCAA tournament as a No. 3 seed.

  • UNC WBB (19-12) is the No. 8 seed in the Albany 1 Region and will play No. 9 Michigan State (22-8) at 11:30 a.m. Friday in Columbia, South Carolina (ESPN2).

  • Duke WBB (20-11) enters the field as a No. 7 seed and will play No. 10 seed Richmond (29-5) in the Portland 3 Region on Friday at 2:30 p.m. in Columbus, Ohio (ESPNN).

  • NC State WBB (27-6) will play its first-round game against No. 14 seed Chattanooga (28-4) in the Portland 4 Region on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. in Reynolds Coliseum (ESPNU). It's an intriguing storyline with Wolfpack coach Wes Moore going against his previous school.
