According to the Durham Police Department, officers responded to a shooting at Hillandale Road and Rose of Sharon Road. That's where they found a man who had been shot multiple times.
Police said the man was inside a vehicle. EMS was called and the man was taken to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
The victim was identified as Billy Ray Dickerson Jr., 51, of Durham.
The case remains under active investigation, DPD said. No further details were immediately released.
