Bride finally hears from Holly Christina Photography after ABC11 inquiry, court deadline looms

RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- A Raleigh wedding photography company accused of ghosting customers and failing to deliver photos and videos is facing a court-ordered deadline Thursday to turn over files to impacted couples.

One bride says she finally heard from Holly Christina Photography for the first time since her wedding day, only after ABC11 Troubleshooter Diane Wilson reached out to the company.

"I really just want my pictures because, I mean, it's my only wedding day," said Krista Alvarez. Alvarez says she paid Holly Christina Photography more than $6,800 to photograph and film her December 15th wedding.

Nearly six months later, she says she still has not received any professional photos or video. "Nothing, not a single picture," Alvarez said.

She says repeated attempts to contact the company went unanswered. "A bunch of the messages I've sent her. I'm like, if you don't have them, just tell me, give me some communication, tell me anything. But nothing," Alvarez said.

Alvarez is one of dozens of brides who have contacted ABC11 since January, claiming they paid Holly Christina Photography thousands of dollars but never received the services or products they were promised. Following ABC11's Troubleshooter investigation, the North Carolina Attorney General's Office filed a lawsuit against Holly Christina Photography.

According to the Attorney General's Office, more than 200 complaints have been filed against the company, with reported losses totaling nearly $1 million. A court order requires Holly Christina Photography to provide photos and videos to impacted customers by Thursday.

While some customers did get their raw photographs from Holly Christina Photography and won disputes with their credit card companies, other customers say they still have nothing.

The Attorney General's Office told ABC11 that if the company does not comply with the court order, it has several options, including asking the court to hold the company in contempt.

The office also says it is contacting every consumer who filed a complaint to determine whether they have received the products they paid for or a refund.

After Wilson emailed Holly Christina Photography asking whether Alvarez would receive her wedding photos and video, Alvarez says she received an email from the company within 10 minutes.

In the email, Holly Christina Photography stated, "We are preparing to send your raw wedding files on physical SD cards," and requested Alvarez's mailing address. Alvarez says it was the first communication she had received from the company since her wedding day. While she is encouraged by the response, she says she remains cautiously optimistic until the files arrive. "I just want to know the truth," Alvarez said. "I have not heard a word from her since my wedding day."

Besides Alvarez, several other brides say they also got a similar email on Wednesday from Holly Christina Photography about where to send their SD cards.

ABC11 has reached out to Holly Christina Photography multiple times for comment, but has not received a response. ABC11 will continue to follow this story and provide updates on whether the company complies with the court order and whether impacted customers receive their photos and videos.
