RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- New developments in the ongoing Troubleshooter investigation into a Raleigh wedding photographer accused of ghosting brides and then suddenly shutting down. We've covered the fallout for weeks after Holly Christina Photography announced on social media in January that it had ceased operations, which left dozens of brides wondering if they would ever receive their wedding photos or get their money back.
Now, we are hearing from some brides and mothers of brides about progress. Dana Chavis was one of the first customers of Holly Christina Photography to reach out to Troubleshooter Diane Wilson.
"I've been blocked. I can't even text the number or call the number anymore, and she's not communicating with anybody through email," said Chavis.
Chavis eventually got her daughter's engagement photographs, but she paid more than $5,000 to Holly Christina Photography to document her daughter's upcoming July wedding, and after Holly Christina Photography announced it had ended operations, Chavis filed a dispute with her credit card right away. It took 30 days for her credit card company to investigate, but she just got word that she won her dispute.
"I was so happy because I was nervous because, you know, they give you the temporary credit and you're just waiting. I was checking it every day, every day to see if it would flip over to a real credit, and I finally saw it," Chavis said.
We've heard from more than 100 brides and mothers of the brides in a similar situation. Some, like Chavis, disputed the charges and said they also got word that they won their dispute. Other customers say they paid in cash or with their debit card and can't file a dispute, and are frustrated to be out the money they paid Holly Christina Photography.
Three brides have told Wilson they have finally received their raw wedding photographs from Holly Christina Photography, but not the video they paid for. However, many other brides who had fall weddings said they have received nothing yet from Holly Christina Photography.
Wilson has repeatedly attempted to contact Holly Christina Photography for comment, but has not received a response. Some customers did receive an email from the company announcing the closure and instructing them to email with questions.
Chavis said, "I am not kidding. I have emailed her every day, two to three times a day. I have texted. There's no response."
The North Carolina Attorney General's Office confirms its investigation into Holly Christina Photography is ongoing. As of this week, the office says 164 complaints have been filed. Consumers who believe they were affected can still file a complaint with the Attorney General's Office.
