According to Durham County Sheriff's Office, 28-year-old Jerrad Alexander McPherson, was arrested last night after deputies tried to pull him over and he led them on a chase tossing things out of his car window.
He eventually stopped and was taken into custody.
Deputies recovered the items thrown from the car, that included a stolen gun and a small amount of cocaine.
As part of the investigation, a search warrant was obtained for McPherson's home where a kilo of fentanyl was found, according to DCSO.
He is on federal probation and was booked into Durham County Jail.
McPherson is being held on a $2.5 million bond for the charges including possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and methamphetamine and trafficking of opium or fentanyl.
