Names released of 3 people killed in Southport mass shooting

SOUTHPORT, N.C. (WTVD) -- Police in Southport have identified the three people killed in a mass shooting during the weekend.

Joy Rogers, 64, of Southport, had already been identified by family members. On Wednesday afternoon, police said the other two victims were 36-year-old Solomon Banjo, from Charlottesville, Virginia, and Michael Durbin, 56, of Galena, Ohio.

At least five other people were also hurt in the Saturday night shooting when the suspect, identified as Nigel Edge, 40, opened fire on a waterfront bar.

Edge is charged with multiple counts of murder and attempted murder. He's due back in court later this month.
