CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (WTVD) -- Protesters are outside the installation of UNC Chancellor Lee Roberts on the university's campus.

They are protesting the war in Gaza and are heard chanting things like "there is only one solution, intifada revolution" and "globalize intifada."

It started inside Memorial Hall right before Roberts was about to make his remarks. Protesters silently stood up with gloves and red hands before being escorted outside.

No arrests have been made so far, but officers are watching from a distance as the protest continues.

The celebration was the formal installation of Chancellor Roberts, which was part of the school's University Day.

He was named the 13th chancellor in the school's history in August after serving in an interim role since January.

Classes were canceled from 11 a.m. until noon in honor of the ceremony.

This year's University Day also marks UNC's 231st birthday.
