The district made changes to the cost of school meals, the online school services system, and cell phone usage for the 2025-2026 school year.
School meals are $0.25 more than last year.
All Wake County schools transitioned from PowerSchool to Infinite Campus as their online school services system.
The change away from PowerSchool comes after a 2024 data breach exposed private student, staff, and parent information.
The district is also cracking down on cell phone usage by students, based on grade level.
High schoolers can use their phones in between classes, during lunch, and when a teacher lets them.
Some parents say they applaud the change as a balanced way to keep students more focused during class while still able to talk to parents throughout the day.

Broughton High School sophomore Morgan Smith says the change wasn't hard to get used to on her first day back.
"It wasn't a bad at all, honestly," she said. "I mean, my phone isn't a distraction to me, so it's fine."
Some students say they feel the new change goes too far, and say they should have more freedom to check their devices.
"I think it should be normal, and it's a bad rule," said Broughton High School freshman Leo White.
The rule is stricter for elementary and middle school students -- who must keep their phones away all day.
