The school went into a Code Red lockdown Monday morning to investigate reports of a weapon on campus.
A school spokesperson said the weapon was recovered with the assistance of the Harnett County Sheriff's Office, Lillington Police and school administrators.
The school said parents and students can expect to see extra officers on campus for the remainder of the week as a safety precaution for everyone.

This is just the latest incident that has prompted a Code Red lockdown and having additional officers on campus in the Triangle
Last Thursday, a juvenile was taken into custody for having an AR-15 on the Millbrook campus during a basketball game. The following day, the school added additional officers.
