GREENVILLE, N.C. (WTVD) -- The legal fight between civil rights leader the Rev. William Barber II and AMC Theatres has been resolved, according to Barber's attorney.

The lawsuit focused on an incident that happened at the AMC Fire Tower 12 theater in Greenville in 2023.

Barber, the former president of the North Chapter of the NAACP, was escorted by police out of the theater for taking his own stool inside.

The lawsuit claimed AMC workers violated the Americans with Disabilities Act by not accommodating Barber.

On Sunday, Barber will attend a private screening of the movie, "Michael, " at the same theater that he was removed from.

Several people with disabilities will join him. Barber will also be allowed to bring his stool inside the movie theater.
