RALEIGH, North Carolina (WTVD) -- The North Carolina State Fair is coming to an end, but it's not too late for you to stop by and have a treat or two.
Let's face it, friends ... the annual siren call from the state fairgrounds in October sparked many reactions around here. While some make it their business to avoid the traffic on I-40 and Blue Ridge Road, others happily succumb.
"We got out of church to come eat at the fair," exclaimed Leslie Covington during when we asked her about her third visit there this year.
"#NCStateFair" is trending on social media as people shared photos and videos of their fair experience.
Tim Clayton-Luce shared these photos on Instagram saying, "What better way to spend a Saturday than eating your way through the state fair."
The photos have some of the new food creations at the fair this year like the Thanksgiving eggroll, firecracker shrimp over slaw, and fried cheese curds.

Food may be a huge part of the NC State Fair, but it's not the only thing drawing in the crowd.
Little Saniya Kenney ran right up to our camera, planted her feet and declared: "My favorite thing about the fair is all the cool spinning rides!"
You can't miss them, either when there are so many choices along the midway.
Some of the people we met on the final day had good reasons for delaying their visits ... people like JoAnn Porter, who said she and her family celebrated her mother in law's 90th birthday on Saturday.
She was also happy about the deep fried vegetable she purchased moments earlier from a vendor who travels to North Carolina from Massachusetts for the fair.
Kristia Kurtz works for that vendor, Poppie's Concessions, and she told ABC11 that she really enjoyed her first visit to our state. Big crowds meant big profits for her boss.
"Everybody wanted to eat that good food," she said with a smile.
But now that the curtain's falling on another fair in Raleigh, one of the littlest fans speaks for many:
"I hope that everybody else who's coming to the fair or are already at the fair are having a good time," said Saniya Kenney before scampering off with her mom in search of more fun. "So, I hope you have a great day, and bye!"
This year the fair broke their record by opening with 57,083 in attendance.
