Our curated list of the best things to do the weekend of October 22 - October 25. You've worked hard this week-go have a little fun.

Catch The Monti at Duke Coffeehouse

Come watch Duke University students tell their own stories live for an evening of exploring the topic of Betrayal. If you boiled down everything about humankind and all the cultures, you could sum up the resulting product in one word: storytelling. It might sound whimsical and farfetched, but it's true! We humans love to connect A to Z and make up the missing letters in between, and The Monti plays on that desire.

The Monti is a non-profit organization inviting people from around Triangle to tell their personal stories-humorous, suspenseful, heartbreaking, and everything in between. No notecards allowed. They host ticketed professional and free, open mic events where anyone is invited to tell their story, as long as it matches the given theme. To share your story or hear the stories of others, check out their website for the list of upcoming shows and events. (Photo via @thebiglean)

Join the Muse Masquerade at 21c

Conjure your inner muse, don a mask and indulge in an evening of outstanding artistic performances, from aerial dancing to poetry, to support The Carrack! The Carrack wants to invite you to the 21c for a masquerade party you won't soon forget (ok, a party full of masked peeps isn't something we forget easily, but this one really goes all out!). Grab your fanciest mask and get ready to shimmy through performances of all kinds-aerial silks, drag, poetry, music, dancing, scavenger hunts and more-to support The Carrack, a Downtown Durham gem that has showcased and supported local artists for years. This fundraiser is fun, eclectic and full of a variety of ways to celebrate and support local art. Grab your tickets here - they're on a name-your-price basis and all sales benefit the art gallery, so do keep that in mind! (Photo via @splashcats)

Gremlins

Movies and wine go together like Hall & Oates, Burt & Ernie and PB&J. Soak in some summer breezes on the lawn while sipping local wine from Doyle's Vineyard-there's nothing more romantic! The quaint Doyle's Vinyard opens its lush outdoor space to moonlit movie gazing. And did we mention it's free? Roll up at 7:30p (movies start right after sunset, but you'll wanna get there early and claim your space!), bring some lawn chairs, and enjoy blockbuster classics with local vino (or soda and water for purchase if you're packin' some little ones), food truck desserts, and wine slushies! There's no classier way to beat the summer heat than sip sweet vino while frolicking in the grass. (Photo via @doylesvineyard)

Drink Authentic Japanese Tea in the Duke Gardens

Take a break from the daily grind and feel like you've been transported to a faraway land. The Japanese Tea Gathering is all about the creation of a shared moment. By the end of the experiene, you'll feel like a bona fide expert on tea-for example, you'll get to know matcha (pronouced ""ma-ta""), derived from finely ground green tea leaf.

There is a $40 fee for non-garden members, a $30 fee for garden members, and a 10 participant limit, so make sure to pre-register-it fills up fast! The event fills up fast, so make sure that you register early enough to get a spot! We promise this 75minute sessions will make your feel rejuvenated. There are two sessions, 10:45a and 1p. Groups meet at Doris Duke Center. (Photo via @jiehuang259)

Join The Hunt, Make a Movie

Join a scavenger hunt across Downtown, film your shenanigans and win a prize-it's fun and all for a good cause! The Hunt is coming to town. Round up 4-6 friends and go run around Downtown Durham on a scavenger hunt, deciphering clues in a variety of locations. You'll start in the parking lot of Southern Documentary Fund. Throughout the hunt, at every stop, you and your teammates will make a short video about the clue and submit it to a panel of judges comprised of film makers and local celebrities. The hunting goes on 12-4p, but the fun doesn't end there-go to Bull McCabes at 6p for an afterparty, screening of all video submissions from the day and winner announcements. The judges will rate your videos according to style, humor and creativity, so you gotta stand out! Need some creative inspiration? Check out last year's winners.
