Friday, September 4 is being billed as 'Force Friday' when all of the movie tie-in merchandise for the highly anticipated Star Wars: The Force Awakens hits shelves. And, retailers are marking the day with events, special hours, and freebies for customers.
207 Target stores are opening at midnight on Force Friday, Sept. 4 when more than 300 items are released. To search for participating stores click HERE. There has also been a preview flyer leaked online revealing discount coupons for the Star Wars merchandise so be sure to check the website and flyer for possible added savings.
Target will continue the event with Share The Force Saturday with an entire shop dedicated to the merchandise, photo ops, giveaways, and toy demos.
While the merchandise being released is top secret, a product flyer was leaked online with lots of Star Wars merchandise. Toys R Us is promoting Force Friday with a free exclusive limited supply poster for fans shopping that day.
Disney stores are also planning special events with midnight madness at some locations and early-bird hours at others. In Raleigh, the Disney Store at Crabtree Valley Mall will close at 8pm on Thursday, Sept. 3 to prepare for Force Friday opening at 7am for shoppers.
Before opening doors, Disney Stores will hold a Star Wars-themed ceremony along with R2-D2 arts and crafts throughout the day as well as a Star Wars Story Time. The first 100 customers to shop on Friday will receive a free Star Wars pin.
DisneyStore.com is also offering special Limited Edition product as well as free shipping on all Star Wars items from Sept. 4-6
Star Wars: The Force Awakens is set for a release December 18.
