Fire officials say the two-seat helicopter was attempting to take off when it suddenly came back down causing it to skid a couple feet across the runway.
The pilot was the only person onboard and was not injured.
A hazmat crew responded to the scene because the helicopter was leaking fuel.
The cause of the incident is unknown and remains under investigation.
