TARBORO, N.C. (WTVD) -- Police arrested a man after a victim died from a stab wound in the chest Sunday evening in Tarboro.

It happened just after 7 p.m. in the 2200 block of Sherwood Avenue.

When police arrived they found Jason Jamar Williams, 28, lying in the front yard with the stab wound. He was taken to Vidant Hospital where he later died.

The suspect, 30-year-old Clifton Douglas Powell, was still on the scene when officers arrived and taken into custody.

After interviewing Powell and investigating, police said the two men had a domestic dispute which ended with Powell stabbing Williams.

Powell was charged with second degree murder and taken to the Edgecombe County Detention Center under a $500,000 bond.
