Two people shot in home invasion at student apartments in Durham

Scary home invasion in Durham.

DURHAM (WTVD) -- Authorities in Durham and Orange County are searching for two suspects involved in a home invasion at an UNC student apartment complex overnight after three people were injured.

It happened just after midnight at Level 51 Ten off-campus apartments at 5110 Old Chapel Hill Road, about 6 miles from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

ABC11 has learned that two men, one with a pistol, entered the apartment where the three victims were inside.

According to authorities, the victims ran into a back bedroom and closed the door.

The suspects then fired through the door. A 22-year-old woman was grazed in the hand. A 21-year-old man was shot in the calf area, and a 20-year-old man suffered cuts to his hands from glass as he jumped out of a window to get away.

All three were taken to the hospital.

The suspects fled the scene.
