79-year-old hurt in Chapel Hill hit and run

CHAPEL HILL, NC -- Police are looking for a car that hit an 79-year-old woman Thursday afternoon in Chapel Hill and kept going.

It happened at the intersection of Weaver Dairy Road Extension and Homestead Road around 1:15 p.m.

Investigators said the woman was not in a crosswalk when she was hit. She suffered serious injuries.

Police said witnesses reported the car was a brown sedan, but they were working on getting a more specific description.
