WILMINGTON, N.C. (WTVD) -- A 6-year-old girl who was the subject of an Amber Alert in North Carolina has been found, and a registered sex offender has been charged with kidnapping.
The New Hanover County Sheriff's Office said the girl was found alive in the woods about 2 miles from her home.
WWAY reports the suspect is 46-year-old Douglas Edwards, a registered sex offender. He is in custody charged with first-degree kidnapping.
Edwards was arrested in New Hanover County Thursday morning. He lives about 4 miles from the child's home.
