Arrest made in brazen robbery of teen girls in Raleigh
RALEIGH (WTVD) -- Raleigh police arrested a 16-year-old girl Thursday in connection with an attack and robbery of two teen sisters getting off a school bus in north Raleigh.
The 15-year-old twin sisters had just gotten off the bus Wednesday afternoon near Hardimont Road and Sarah Lawrence Court when they said a trio of girls robbed them.
"There were like these three girls, and we just got off the bus, and they jumped out of car, and they had guns," said one of the girls in a 911 call released by investigators.
Police said the attackers used a stun gun to shock one of their victims, while a second suspect pointed what appeared to be a handgun before they stole a cellphone.
The victims were able to run to a nearby neighbor's home where they called 911. Neither was injured.
Police arrested and took 16-year-old Jade Paulina Brown to the Wake County Detention Center. Brown is charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.
Wake County Public Schools communication director Lisa Luten told ABC 11 that the school district is conducting its own investigation since the incident involves their students.
