Baby sea turtles start their lives on NC coast

Sea turtles are an endangered species, and right now along the North Carolina coast, baby sea turtles are hatching from their shells.

They are starting their dangerous journey from the safety of their nests to the Atlantic Ocean.

This weekend, ABC11 photojournalist Jim Schumacher was at Hammocks Beach State Park at the same time a group was helping some baby turtles start their new lives.
