RALEIGH (WTVD) -- Authorities in Raleigh are investigating a woman's death after her body was found behind a business early Friday morning.

On Friday afternoon, police identified the woman as 44-year-old Olha Kocherhina.

Police were called around 1:30 a.m. to the area around Kimbrell's Furniture in the 5100 block of New Bern Avenue.

Officials surrounded the area with crime scene tape and appeared to be focusing their investigation around the back parking lot of the business and two trucks - a white moving truck and a multi-colored truck - that were parked in the lot.

Detectives were seen placing evidence markers around the white truck where the woman's body was discovered.

Many who live in the neighborhood behind the store, around Raleigh Beach Road and Groundwater Place, said they often drive through the parking lot as a shortcut to get home.

They said it's dark there, and it's not uncommon to see people in vehicles hanging late at night.

"It's really creepy and scary to think about it because just last night we had passed through there," neighbor Maria Arias said. "I think it was like 11p that we came back from the gym. Just thinking about how we always pass through there at night. It's terrifying."

J.D. Byrider, which is next to the furniture store, said the victim was not one of their employees or customers. Kimbrell's would not comment.
