CARY, N.C. (WTVD) -- Cary investigators returned to the pond where a 19-year-old girl was found dead Tuesday. Officers continue to determine the cause of death.
Aliza Webb's body was found off Yates Store Road.
Her family spoke with ABC11. They are grieving now, but said they knew something was wrong for days. They reported her missing on Jan. 10. A family member said he kept calling police, begging for help and asking if there were any lead in the disappearance.
Webb was found dead a half-mile away from her Cary home. The discovery was made in the Amberly subdivision.
People who live in the area said two young children found the teen.
"It's really sad and I feel really bad for both families. Little girls who found the body and went screaming to their parents and then for the parents of the girl," said Teresa Molter.
"Finding a body there is surprising," said Srini Kodali. "It's alarming."
There was a blanket, bicycle, and sewing machine by her body.
Police said it doesn't appear there was foul play, but they don't know for sure. They are waiting for the result of an autopsy report.
