Brier Creek Walmart evacuated after small fire inside fast food restaurant

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- A small fire at the McDonald's inside the Brier Creek Walmart led to the evacuation of the store Friday evening.

It happened just before 6:30 p.m. in the 10000 block of Glenwood Avenue.

Fire crews quickly brought under control in about 15 minutes.

Officials say some people were checked out for smoke inhalation, but not transported to the hospital.

The store was closed for about three hours after the fire.
