Chatham County Sheriff's Office investigating a homicide

BEAR CREEK, N.C. (WTVD) -- Investigators say a Bear Creek man was killed in a shooting Thursday night.

Chatham County Sheriff's deputies responded to Pinecrest Drive in Bear Creek around 11:00 p.m. and found 35-year-old Raymond Cotten Jr. had been shot. Cotten died as a result of his injuries.

Neighbors reported hearing multiple gunshots and an unknown vehicle was seen leaving the area after the shots were fired.
