Crews battle massive fire at Wrightsville Beach

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WTVD) -- Crews worked for hours to contain a massive fire at a business next to Johnnie Mercer's Pier in Wrightsville Beach, WWAY reports.

Dispatchers said a call came in about a fire at King's on Salisbury Street just after noon on Friday.

Town Manager Tim Owens said there are no reported injuries, according to ABC11 affiliate WWAY.

Officials worked to extinguish remaining hot spots for most of the day Friday. Crews on the scene said the store is completely gutted.
