Driver charged with DWI in fatal Fayetteville hit-and-run

FAYETTEVILLE (WTVD) -- The driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run in Fayetteville was charged with DWI and driving while license revoked on Saturday.

The accident happened just before 9:30 p.m. on Friday on Ramsey Street near Sherman Drive, near the VA Medical Center.

Stanford Lee Gray, 34, was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center where he later died.

Franklin Harris, who was stopped not far from the location where Gray was hit, was taken into custody. On Saturday, Fayetteville Police announced Harris, 43, had been charged in the accident.
