Durham man charged with murder, arrested in South Carolina

DURHAM (WTVD) -- Durham police have arrested 40-year-old Brian Lamont Davis and charged him with the Jan. 19 murder of 63-year-old Charles Hinnant of Durham.

Hinnant's body was found in his home on Jan. 19 at the Colony Hill condominium complex in the 3000 block of Colony Road.

Police said Davis, who was Hinnant's housemate, was taken into custody in Columbia, South Carolina.

In addition to murder, Davis is facing charges of felony larceny, felony larceny of a motor vehicle, obtaining property by false pretense and possession of stolen goods.
