RALEIGH (WTVD) -- Raleigh firefighters are investigating a fire that destroyed a vacant house on Sunday.

Authorities said the house, located in the 700-block of Gannett Street, used to be a daycare.

The current owner had been living there for almost 50 years, but it has been up for sale.

Authorities said the owner was not home at the time, and no one was hurt in the blaze.

Firefighters said the smoke was so thick when they entered the neighborhood that they couldn't tell which house the flames were coming from.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
