Firefighters battle basement blaze in Raleigh

Raleigh police responded to a fire they say started in the basement.

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- Raleigh firefighters battled a major blaze in Raleigh early Saturday morning.

Authorities said it happened at a home on Pinehurst Drive around 4:30 a.m. The fire started in the basement and burned through the floor in multiple places.

Crews on the scene had to work through the windows to extinguish the flames due to the floor damage.

No one was inside of the house at the time, and no injuries have been reported.

The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
