Funeral held for Kenly firefighter killed while responding to wreck
KENLY, N.C. (WTVD) -- Firefighters from all over the state paid their respects to John Morris Davis Jr. Thursday - one of their own who died while on duty.
The Kenly firefighter died from a heart attack after while helping extricate a man whose vehicle crashed into a pole on Princeton Kenly Road and flipped over Saturday evening. Davis later died at the hospital. He was 45.

His fellow firefighters came together to honor his 20 years of service and comfort his family - including his wife and three children. Fire trucks belonging to more than 35 stations lined up along the road near the funeral home.
"It's a brotherhood of firefighters and when something happens to one of us to this degree it happens to all of us and we mourn that loss," Kenly Fire Assistant Fire Chief Tim Little said.
"He enjoyed what he did and to me, I feel that he went doing what he wanted to do best," Broad and Gales Creek Firefighter/EMT Danny Moreno said.
In addition to the Kenly Fire Department, other departments located as far away as New York have dedicated tributes to him.
