FAYETTEVILLE (WTVD) -- Fayetteville firefighters responded to the Kangaroo Express gas station on Skibo Road on Sunday after a gas pump caught on fire.
Our crew on the scene said someone was backing up and cut the wheel too sharply, knocking the pump over. The vehicle moved out of the way before the pump burst into flames.
Authorities said the staff inside the store hit the emergency shut off.
Police blocked off the entrance to the store, as firefighters used foam to put out the fire and control the flammable fumes.
Police said The Kangaroo was able to re-open for business, with the exception of fuel service, after the fire.
There were no reported injuries.
