GRANVILLE COUNTY (WTVD) -- A rest area near mile marker 199 on I-85 shut down Sunday night due to a hazmat situation, according to the Granville County Sheriff's Office.
Officials said a truck carrying sulfuric acid and possibly another chemical began leaking around 8 p.m. The driver pulled off the road to check out the situation.
A hazmat team from Raleigh responded to the scene to investigate.
