Holly Springs teen killed in car crash

HOLLY SPRINGS, N.C. (WTVD) -- A two-car crash near Holly Springs killed a teenager and sent two others to the hospital.

It happened Saturday afternoon on Piney Grove Wilbon Road near Wade Nash Road.

The State Highway Patrol says a car driven by 16-year-old Madison Pearce, of Holly Springs, crossed the center line and hit a pick-up truck head-on.

The two people in the truck were taken to Wake Med with injuries that were not life-threatening.

Investigators do not believe speed or alcohol were factors in the crash.

The investigation is ongoing.
