Homophobic graffiti found in Duke residence hall
DURHAM (WTVD) -- Duke officials are investigating after homophobic graffiti was found in an east campus residence hall that threatened a Duke student.
Michael Schoenfeld, Duke's Vice President for Public Affairs and Government Relations, said the residence hall staff and fellow students immediately provided support for the student and campus police were called.
"The swift and passionate response by Duke students to this cowardly act, like others before it, demonstrates the integrity and principles of the Duke community far more than any anonymous graffiti. Duke does not and will never condone intolerance, regardless of where and when it arises," he said.
Last month, the school also investigated the defacing of a poster on campus with a racial slur.
