Jury awards $18 million to estate of Chapel Hill man killed in bus crash

DURHAM (WTVD) -- A jury in Durham awarded $18 million to the estate of 58-year-old Doval Watson Thursday afternoon.

The Chapel Hill man was killed when the charter bus he was riding in careened off the road in Virginia on a trip to Hampton University two years ago.

His family sued the bus driver and the company claiming the driver lost control when he reached for his drink.

In all, the crash involved six students and two adults.
