RALEIGH (WTVD) -- Raleigh police have a man in custody after a fatal shooting Tuesday night.
Around 9:35 p.m., officers were called to the 3500 block of Limber Lane, which is near Mitchell Mill Road, where they found 27-year-old Danielle Anita Hodges shot to death.
Authorities later arrested 25-year-old Brian O'Keith Davis early Wednesday morning. He's charged with murder in Hodges' death.
"I broke down. I was in shock, I didn't believe it," Davis' friend Brian Adeniyi said. "I said, 'No, not him.'"
Some neighbors who were not at home at the time of the shooting were not allowed back to their houses as police searched for the alleged gunman. Others told ABC11 that police knocked on doors and told people living in the area to lock their doors and turn on their lights.
Andre Hobbs, who lives across the street from the house where Hodges was found, said Davis and Hodges knew each other.
"They were good, from what I thought," he said. "Like I told you, he was quiet. You know people aren't going to tell you about their relationship. I don't know too much about her. It was just "hi" and "bye." Never really had a conversation. She wasn't my girl."
Meanwhile, Davis remains inside the Wake County Jail as police continue their murder investigation, and the relationship between the pair.
