Man charged with rape in Halifax County

HALIFAX COUNTY, N.C. (WTVD) -- The Halifax County Sheriff's Office said they filed felony warrants against a man for a sexual assault.

It happened Saturday evening.

Deputies charged Isalas Leiva Rosales, 56, of Enfield with assault on a female and first degree rape.

Authorities said Rosales allegedly assaulted the victim and committed sexual acts.

Rosales fled the scene and was tracked down and arrested by deputies and a K-9.

They said he knew the victim.

Rosales was taken to the Halifax County Jail and placed under $100,000 bond and will be in court October 21.
