Man found dead in house fire north of Sanford

SANFORD, N.C. (WTVD) -- The Chatham County Sheriff's Office says a man was found dead after a fire Wednesday night in the 2100 block of River Forks Road - north of Sanford.

The majority of the home was destroyed before firefighters arrived.

The dead man was identified as 47-year-old James Taylor.

Deputies, along with the Chatham County Fire Marshal's Office and the N.C. State Bureau of Investigations are still working to determine the cause and origin of the fire.
