Man taken to hospital after stabbing in Durham

DURHAM (WTVD) -- Durham police say a man was stabbed in the lower back Sunday night while downtown. He was taken to the hospital.

Police say he was attacked in a parking lot near Federal Bar after refusing to give up his wallet.

Our crew at the scene was covering the UNC Tar Heels Elite 8 game at the bar when a man rushed in with a wound. He was not stabbed at the bar.

He told his friends who then called 911. When emergency crews arrived, he was taken out of the bar on a stretcher.

Police say the victim has non-life threatening injuries. They are looking for a black man in a tan jacket.
