More reports of attempted child luring in Wake County
ROLESVILLE, N.C. (WTVD) -- Parents are on alert in Northern Wake County after there's been another report of men trying to lure children into a vehicle by talking about lost kittens.
A Rolesville mother said her children were approached Tuesday around noon in a neighborhood off of West Young Street. She says the vehicle that pulled up in her driveway matches the description in the Wake Forest cases.
Three kids have been approached there. The father of one of the victims spoke with ABC11.
"You can do what you can do and be vigilant, but there are bad people out there," said parent Wayne Sadlowski.
Wake Forest and Rolesville police are now working together on the cases.
"To find out who these people are and put an end to it," said Wake Forest Spokesperson Bill Crabtree.
The men have been canvassing neighborhoods in a silver or gray four-door SUV which has damage on the passenger side and the mirror is missing.
Right now, police do not have clear descriptions of the luring predators.
"Our worst fear is that a child will be picked up," said Crabtree. "Fortunately in these cases, all of the children approached have done exactly the right thing. They've run away immediately and have told a parent or responsible adult."
Police are urging residents to remain vigilant and call 911 immediately if they see anything suspicious.
