RALEIGH (WTVD) -- Raleigh police put the heat on a cold case and arrested a suspect in a decades old murder.

Ralph Smith, 51, was found lying outside of a cab on East Bragg Street on October 22, 1971. He died of a gunshot wound.

Detectives just got a warrant - 43 years later - to arrest Sinatra Dunn on murder charges.

He lived in Raleigh at the time of the incident, but most recently lived in Carrboro.

Police haven't said how the two knew each other or what led to the crime.
