CHAPEL HILL, NC (WTVD) -- Orange and Chatham County Superior Court Judge Carl Fox spent his birthday at UNC's Cancer Hospital Wednesday.
Judge Fox was diagnosed with blood cancer in April and needs a bone marrow transplant. He was admitted to the UNC hospital last week after coming down with an infection and fever, and still looking for the bone marrow match.
According to Delete Blood Cancer, nearly 2,000 people have registered to be a match for Fox, but still no match has turned up.

Fox said he's hopeful more people will register at one of the upcoming events.
"My goal has always been not just to find somebody to match me, but to find someone to match every one of for those 14,000 people who are looking for a bone marrow donor," Fox said.
"Every single person who's registered, thank you," Fox added. "Because as long as you live, you have the possibility of saving someone's life."
